The CNMI Department of Public Safety has launched a search for a 50-year-old man identified as Juan K. Igisomar, who has been reported missing since Tuesday, April 26.

A DPS news yesterday said that a family member of the victim had told police that they have not seen their uncle for about two weeks. Based on the information gathered, Igisomar was last seen on Sunday, April 24, 2022, by the former IT&E building in Chalan Lau Lau.

The DPS statement said that Igisomar was last seen wearing a pair of khaki long pants, was shirtless, with gray colored hair and facial hair. Igisomar is approximately 5’8” and around 220 lbs. Family members also mentioned to police that Igisomar has a disability and is frequently seen walking along Middle Road in Chalan Lau Lau, with no shirt.

Igisomar’s disappearance was reported to police last April 26, 2022, at about 2:24pm.

Separately, in a Facebook post Tuesday evening, it said that Igisomar has not returned to his home in Chalan Laulau that day.

In Ilóurisa Kai Ka (Jezebel Kaipat Kapileo)’s initial Facebook post, which has almost 300 shares, she wrote “Good day, family & friends in the Marianas (Saipan to be specific). A family member of ours, John Kaipat Igisomar, (my uncle-mother’s brother) has not been seen at his home in Chalan Laulau for awhile now. He is known to frequently get around the island by walking and is usually at Chalan Kiya, Beach Road, Garapan area and Middle Road. It is unusual for Uncle John to not return home after a day of being out. This is so unlike him, therefore the family and I are worried.”

In a Facebook messenger interview, Ilóurisa said, “We are doing our efforts to find him and DPS has been informed as well. We are hoping he is just at a friend’s or relative’s home.  Any help is greatly appreciated.”

Department of Public Lands Secretary and former senator Sixto Igisomar also said on his Facebook page, “Our Saipan family, I know John may have visited your homes, so please let us know if you’ve seen him at least the past days or over the weekend. We are having mixed days of when he was last seen, and so we are worried. Help, please, and I hope he is just spending time with other family members or friends. God bless and thank you.”

DPS said that police have contacted several individuals in the community in search of new information about Igisomar. The police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the missing individual. If you have information on any recent sightings or if anyone you know has any information on the whereabouts of Igisomar, call 911, 1 (670) 234-0911 or 1 (670)-664-9001.
