Torres visits Oleai Sports Complex
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, his staff, and the permitting agency paid a visit to the Oleai Sports Complex last April 7, as the facility will serve as the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022 venue for badminton, baseball, and track and field.
“I wanted to check in on the state of the facilities as we near the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games. This is the first time the NMI will be the host country for the Games, and I want to make sure we are ready,” he said.
As the clock winds down to the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022, the Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee is working tirelessly to make all the necessary improvements and preparations to ensure a successful Games.
“I applaud the efforts of the PMG Organizing Committee. Their dedication to put on this amazing event is remarkable,” said Torres.
Current preparation efforts include the permitting of the va’a course. Additionally, the Crowne Plaza, the venue for beach volleyball, is undergoing renovations which will include adding sand to the courts, making sure the courts meet game regulation standards, and the beautifying the surrounding area.
“Further work is needed as we count down to the Games, but I am confident the work of the PMGOC, the sponsors and our government will create a spectacular event,” said Torres. (PR)
