OPA outreach on Tinian and Rota
To all appointed/elected Commonwealth officials, boards, councils or task forxce members or directors, commissioners, executive directors including acting (in excess of 90 days) executive director, managing directors, deputy directors, administrators, or similar positions on your board, council, commission, task force or agency:

The staff of the Office of the Public Auditor will be on Tinian on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 9am to 3pm at the Tinian Mayor’s Office and on Rota on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 8am to 3pm at the Rota Mayor’s Office to notarize and accept filings of financial disclosure statements from government officials.

All filers are reminded to bring with them some form of valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license or a passport. Failure to do so may result in the denial of notary services. For any inquiries, contact OPA at 322-6481. (PR)

Small craft advisory until Monday
A small craft advisory remains in effect until 6am Monday

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Guam and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, east winds 15 to 25 nots and seas 7 to 9 feet will be building to between 8 and 10 feet Friday night until 6am Monday. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions. (PR)

Rip currents until Sunday night
The public is being warned of a high risk of rip currents along east reefs through Sunday night.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, dangerous rip currents are present along east facing reefs of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota through Sunday night.

Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. The public is advised to stay out of the water along east facing reefs. Elsewhere, swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don’t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. (PR)

4.6-magnitude quake in Maug region
At 10:45pm on April 4, 2022, a report of a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred 19.786°N 145.446°E of Maug Island region, Northern Mariana Islands. Currently, there are no tsunami Warnings or advisories that were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. (PR)

Guam PTAC offers free webinars
The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering free live webinars in April.

Webinars run from 10am to 11:30am and will be conducted via Zoom. Links to the live webinar and the webinar evaluation will be emailed to all registered attendees 15 minutes before the start of the webinar.

• 4/14/22 – Teaming & JVs – What are they and which is right for your business? The Guam PTAC will discuss the Federal regulations related to these arrangements and discuss ways to use these arrangements effectively.

• 4/21/22 – Service Contract Act – The Service Contract Act (SCA) requires contractors and subcontractors performing services on prime contracts in excess of $2,500 to pay service employees prevailing wages. We will discuss the details of the SCA and how contractors can stay in compliance.

4/28/22 – GovGuam Procurement – The Guam PTAC will explain Government of Guam Procurement, where to find opportunities, and how to submit bids.
