The University of California San Diego, in partnership with CNMI Occupational Safety and Health Administration, conducted five Confined Space trainings across over the course of three days at the American Memorial Park Auditorium last March 21-23, 2022.
There were over 60 participants from both the private and public sector. The purpose of the course was to educate workers and employers of the hazards that come with working in and around confined spaces and the importance of a company’s Rescue Plan.
OSHA On-Site Consultation program manager Tim Asaivao said, “The reception by the participants was positive and encouraging [despite] the challenges they continue to face since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. …CNMI OSHA’s consultation program can assist with hazard identification and proper abatement techniques.”
