Thank you
Due to being immunocompromised, I was fortunate last week in receiving my fourth dose of the Moderna SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. The vaccination officials were excited when administering the jab as I evidently was the first person on Saipan to receive their fourth shot.
While I’m often critical of certain aspects of the CNMI’s COVID-19 response and control measures, I’m sincerely appreciative of everyone who works earnestly to help their fellow citizens during these difficult times. However, I especially want to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved with the CNMI vaccination efforts as they continue to do a great and vital job.
While I’m at it, I also want to thank all the essential and front-line workers—grocery store workers, utility staff and payment folks, solid waste pick-up people and drivers, drink water delivery guys, health care workers, teachers, mechanics and those people who keep the hardware stores stocked, who unload the shipping containers and fuel ships and everyone else who keeps civilization, such as it is, up and running.
Thank you.
To everyone else, the pandemic isn’t over so please do your part and get your third jab (your fourth if you’re immunocompromised). Continue wearing a mask when indoors and around people, maintain social distance and good hygiene, and do whatever you can to ensure excellent ventilation at home, at work, and in cars (if riding with others).
