While studying at NEU, Nishida actively participated, joined, and volunteered in different activities and societies. He was also a Pan Asian American Council representative, Huntington News writer, and Generate Content supervisor.

Nishida served as the podcast associate at the Michael J. and Ann Sherman Center for Engineering Entrepreneurship Education and editorial assistant at TechTarget. He is currently working as digital/customer marketing specialist at Threat Stack, Inc.

As for exciting new things to look forward to this year, Nishida is back to NEU as a full-time graduate student with concentration on Master of Science in Media Advocacy. He will be doing an independent study with Equally American, a nonprofit organization that advocates for equal rights and representation for citizens living in the U.S. territories. He will also be working on media communications and strategy. Nishida is hoping to be able to start a new conversation that will elevate the issues the territories face to the national level and open the door to new possibilities. Nishida is especially excited to be working with the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research and the Boston Globe on their revival of The Emancipator, the first abolitionist newspaper in the U.S. which he will be helping with the launch this year.

Nishida graduated from Marianas High School in 2017. He is a former intern at Saipan Tribune. His mother is a teacher at Hopwood Middle School and his father is a manager at Tasi Tours and Transportation. (PR)
