Power service interruption on Friday
There will be a scheduled power service interruption on Jan. 21, 2022, from 8:30am to 9:30am and 10am to 10:30am, affecting Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers along Beach Road.
Areas affected include Ladera Center building, new Bank of Saipan, First Hawaiian Bank Oleai, Joeten Motors, Joeten Super Store, J’s Restaurant, MVA building, and the Microl intersection traffic lights.
This outage will allow CUC to install conductors overhead primary lines to complete the interconnection of Feeder 2 and Kiya 4 feeder project.
No water well will be affected. The S11 and S12 wastewater facilities will be affected but will be monitored by the generator crew during the outage.

SHRM meeting on Jan. 26
The Society for Human Resource Management CNMI Chapter will host a general membership meeting at the Regency Saipan Ballroom on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, starting at 11:15am. Doors will open at 10:30 AM.
This meeting will feature presentations regarding COVID-19 updates on community-based testing, vaccinations & booster vaccinations, and OSHA law updates.
The presenters are:
• Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.: public information officer Guillermo Cruz Lifoifoi and Heather S. Pangelinan, director of Population Health Services
• CNMI Department of Labor – Occupational Safety & Health Administration: Project manager Timothy Asaivao
This meeting will also feature the induction of the 2022 SHRM CNMI board. The oath will be administered by SHRM CNMI Chapter co-founder Josephine Mesta.

The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering a free live webinar today, Jan. 20, on SBIR/STTR Programs – Calling all inventors and innovators.
The Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs encourage small businesses to engage in federal research and development that has the potential for commercialization. We will explain the programs and show how you can get involved.

4.9-magnitude quake near Guam
At 10:49am on Jan. 16, 2022, a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred 15 kilometers northwest of Agat Village, Guam. Currently, there are no tsunami warnings or advisories issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 670-237-8000. (PR)
