The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the public that there is an emergency water service interruption in effect due to the low water tank level at the Isley Water Tank. Customers in the areas of As Perdido, As Gonno, Koblerville, San Antonio, Afetnas, Chalan Piao, Chalan Kanoa, and Susupe will experience low pressure.

CUC operators identified the Maui 1 Shaft well offline yesterday at 2:45pm. due to a pump and motor failure. The pump and motor in the Maui 1 Shaft well is located 110-feet below the surface, which requires operators to descend into the shaft to perform the pump and motor replacement. This work is anticipated to be completed today, Dec. 13, 2021, at 7:30pm. Customers in the affected areas will experience improved water pressure within the next six to eight hours after the tank level increases and the distribution system’s pressure stabilizes.

CUC urges customers in these areas to continue to practice water conservation and to contact the CUC Customer Call Center to report leaks for repairs. (PR)
