BMV indefinitely postpones renewal of driver’s license

Share

The Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles resumes regular operations today except for driver’s license renewal, among other services.

Beginning today, the BMV will be open to the public from Monday to Friday. However, BMV services will only include vehicle registration and transfers, watercraft registration, and transfers. At this time, all driver’s license renewals, driver exams, and drivers testing are postponed and will be rescheduled until a later date.

The BWV will only accept document drop-off for vehicle and/or watercraft registration renewal from 8am to 10. Then 2pm to 4pm will be dedicated document pick-up.

All individuals who are looking to visit BMV and avail of its services are required to wear a face mask and maintain the standard 6-foot distance when lining up and around other individuals.

The department asks individuals to make payments at CNMI Treasury on Capital Hill, or Revenue and Tax in Dan Dan before turning in documents, as the DPS cashiers window operated by the Office of Finance will be closed.

BMV will be accepting incoming documents and will be processing these documents for next-day pick-up.
