Children grow, develop, and learn throughout their lives, starting at birth. A child’s development can be tracked by how they play, learn, speak, and behave. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends developmental screenings be completed at 9, 18, and 24 or 30 months of age or whenever a parent expresses concerns. When a developmental delay is recognized early, children can get the help and assistance they need.

The Public School System’s Early Intervention Program, in collaboration with the Division of Public Health Services, invites the public to attend an evening presentation on Child Development on May 19 at JC Café’s conference room from 5pm to 6:30pm. Space is limited. Please call us for reservations.

A team of professionals will also provide free developmental screenings and hearing screening at the Tinian Health Center on May 20, from 8:30am to 3pm. For an appointment, call Tessa Diaz at 433-9233 or feel free to walk in.

For more information, call Children’s Developmental Assistance Center at 664-4841. (PR)
