The Superior Court has imposed a $50,000 cash bail on a man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting his girlfriend for months.

Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan signed the arrest warrant for Aberick Taday Taman, 19, last weekend with a bail amount of $50,000 based on information gathered by police investigators.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Dre Pangelinan said Taman was charged with assault, domestic violence, assault and battery, sexual assault in the first degree, false arrest, interfering with a domestic violence report, strangulation, vandalism, and disturbing the peace.

According to police reports, police received a 911 call last Sunday, Nov. 7, at approximately 4:34pm about an assault and battery incident in Susupe.

At the scene, the victim told police officers about the physical and sexual abuse she had endured over the course of a few months at the hands of her boyfriend, Taman.

Police arrested Taman on Capitol Hill on Monday, Nov. 8, at around 5:21pm, during which Taman allegedly admitted to the accusations. (PR/Saipan Tribune)
