Grace Christian Academy 1 and Marianas High School 1 remained unscathed after defeating their respective opponents in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Girls High School Volleyball League 2021-2022 season last Tuesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.
The Lady Dolphins 1 was the first to keep its winning streak alive after a 25-14, 27-25 victory over an improving Saipan Southern High School 1. The now 8-0 MHS 1 is made up of Arisa Custodio, Abigail Decena, Madelleen Narciso, Fatima Monterubio, Julie Ann Capayas, Daejah Benavente, Rizza Relucio, Raina Avelino, Raenna Ramarui, Kalista Klaver, and Kina Rangamar. SSHS 1 dropped to 2-6.
The Lady Eagles 1 followed suit, registering its ninth win against no loss after manhandling Saipan International School 2, 25-1, 25-9. The GCA 1 roster includes Karina Dilse, Clerrise Dacumos, Katriel Saures, Hye Jin Elliott, Soleil Lamar, Vicky Wang, Mint Karsuaythong, Eunice Pagaduan, and Allyssa Omampo. It was the seventh loss in nine games for SIS 2.
In other games, SIS 1 improved to 6-2 in the win-loss column after blanking Mt. Carmel School 2, 25-0, 25-0. It was MCS 2’s second loss in eight matches. MHS 2 also scored back-to-back wins Wednesday after beating MCS 3, 25-19, 25-13, and knocking out GCA 2, 25-20, 25-20. MHS 2 is now at 7-3, while MCS 3 dropped to an even 5-5 record and GCA 2 is now at 5-4. In the final match of the day, SIS 1 showed no love to sister team SIS 2, 25-7, 25-9, to hike its mark to 7-2, while dealing SIS 2 a 2-7 record.
