The winning artwork of two Northern Marianas students are being featured in NOAA’s 2022 Marine Debris Calendar, according to Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan’s e-newsletter over the weekend.\
The newsletter states that the art of eighth grader Jeewoo S. graces the calendar cover; while the month of February features a piece by fifth grader Daniel N.

“The work of the two Marianas students bested hundreds of entries from across the country to be selected for publication,” it said.

The NOAA Marine Debris Program annual art contest asks youth from kindergarten through eighth grade to describe the impact of man-made debris on the marine environment and local solutions to the problem.

“Great work, Jeewoo and Daniel. Thank you for reminding us we are all responsible for the health of the ocean,” the newsletter states. (Saipan Tribune)
