Update on emergency water service interruption

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to update the public on the emergency water service interruption that occurred on Sept. 12, for customers in the Kagman, Papago, San Vicente. Upper Dandan Homestead, Obyan and Naftan areas.

As of Sept. 16, water services have been restored to the Papago, San Vicente, Upper Dandan Homestead, Naftan and Obyan area. CUC Operators have repaired three service lateral leaks in the lower elevation area of the Dandan Homestead. CUC is testing for 24-hour water services.

– Kagman 3 and Kaman 3 Phase 4 — Currently online until further notice.

– Papago, San Vicente, Dandan Homestead (High Elevation) — Currently online until further notice.

– Dandan Homestead (Lower Elevation across the Dandan Middle School) — Currently online until further notice.

– Naftan and Obyan — Currently online until further notice.

In order to provide limited water supply to the Dandan Homestead customers, CUC will be distributing water at the following site:

– The two water tankers owned by the Saipan Mayor’s Office will be available at the San Vicente Youth Center for customers to fill up their gallons. Customers are welcome to retrieve water at this location. Note that the water is non-potable. (PR)
