Paire FC shuts down Kanoa FC in MSL

Paire Football Club stretched its winning streak to five following a rout of Kanoa Football Club, 6-0, during their game in the Marianas Soccer League Summer Season last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Philip Megino and Eric Barajas delivered two goals apiece for Paire, while Jireh Yobech and Travis Spaeth contributed one apiece. Megino scored the first goal for Paire in the 14th minute and also closed out for the team with his second one recorded in the 85th. Barajas got his pair of goals in back-to-back fashion as he found the back of the net in the 29th and 36th minute, while Yobech and Spaeth scored in the 41st and 51st minute, respectively.
With the lopsided win, Paire (5-0-0 win-draw-loss) remained on top of the team standings, while Kanoa is in fourth place of the six-team field. Kanoa, before bowing to Paire, came from a similar shutout win over the Old B Bank last week.
Five different players hit the board for Kanoa with Anthony Bergancia scoring first with his goal in the 24th minute. Andruw Omelau also made his shot in the second half (42nd minute), while Ruselle Zapanta, Ruben Guerrero, and Leland Deleon Guerrero all made their goals late in the second half. Zapanta got his in the 72nd minute, Guerrero followed three minutes later, while Deleon Guerrero wrapped it up for Kanoa in the 87th.
In other results in MSL, TanHoldings notched win No. 3 after defeating MP United, 2-0.
Brandon Tenorio and Zhe Xiong Li teamed up in the victory with the former nailing his goal in the 19th minute and the latter in the 67th.
MSL 2
Saipan United 3, Shirley’s FC 1
Saipan United kept the top spot in the MSL 2 after downing Shirley’s Football Club.
Michael Devanna starred in the win, as he knocked in all the three goals for Saipan United, which improved its record to 4-0-1. Devanna logged his first goal in the 13th minute and the last two in the 50th and 51st.
Shirley’s, which has only one win so far after five games this season, got its lone goal from Risty Vergara.
Bangladesh Youth 3, NMI WNT 1
Bangladesh Youth (3-2-0) continues to lurk behind Saipan United after beating the NMI Women’s National Team in the other match last Friday.
Mohammad Bappi Islam, Majarul Islam, and Hemil Bapari scored for Bangladesh Youth, which now has a 3-2-0, just a win behind Saipan United.
The NMI WNT had an own goal to avoid a shutout loss.
Matansa 1, Bangladesh FC 1
In the first MSL game last Sunday, Matansa forced Bangladesh FC to a draw.
Justin Weaver made the equalizer for Matansa in the 54th minute, while Rakib Hassan registered the lone goal for Bangladesh in the 11th.
The One FC 2, Island Star 1
The One FC notched its second win this season after outclassing Island Star.
Guang Ming Xu drilled the go-ahead in the 65 th minute, while The One FC had an own goal in the 29th. Earlier in the sixth minute, Zhi Peng Lin scored for Island Star.
