The Division of Youth Services will offer its Aggression Replacement Training sessions at the Kagman Community Center this month, according to Jennifer Tanaka, supervisor of the Family & Youth Enhancement Program, during a KKMP radio guesting yesterday.

ART is a 10-week program for ages 13 to 21 that introduces participants to healthy ways of managing anger. Participants taking part in the program meet three times a week for 10 weeks at the Kagman Community Center. The program is one of many that is part of DYS’ Family & Youth Enhancement Program.

According to Tanaka, she wanted the program be made available for those participating in the center’s after-school program, and clarified that ART is available for everyone who wants to participate.

“[ART] is not only available for those who are at risk. We want to also want to teach the [children] that come in and volunteer their time to be here so that they can know what the program is about, go out there, and share with their peers and tell them that there is such a program [like ART] here at the center so they can come over and avail of it,” said Tanaka.

Those interested can find and fill out application forms at http://www.dys.gov.mp/dys-forms/, or stop by the Kagman Community Center.
