1 more positive in CNMI; 35 hospitalized in Guam
One more incoming traveler was confirmed positive for COVID-19, according to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. yesterday. The case brings the CNMI’s total to 242.
The individual was identified by travel screening and confirmed positive through arrival testing on Aug. 30, and since then has been quarantined and actively monitored. CHCC’s Communicable Disease Investigation/Inspection team has already initiated contact tracing for those who were in most immediate contact with the individual.
CHCC also reports that there is only one active hospitalization.
As of yesterday, in the CNMI there have been a total of 242 confirmed COVID-19 cases, two deaths, and one active hospitalization.
In Guam, its Joint Information Center said Monday that there are currently 35 individuals hospitalized in the territory due to COVID-19, and that 21 of the 35 are unvaccinated. The JIC also announced that Guam reported 114 new positive cases, with Guam’s Department of Public Health and Social Services reporting 20 cases, and 94 cases identified “as a result of complete analysis and case submissions from other clinics for preliminary COVID-19 test results.”
As of Monday, in Guam there have been 10,353 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 145 deaths, and 35 active hospitalizations.
