DMCC Corp., the operator of the Rendezvous Restaurant and the Bamboo Bar at Saipan Vegas, is concerned that the doubling of license fees on e-gaming machines will have a dramatic impact on Saipan Vegas and will, in turn, negatively affect the restaurant and bar’s operations.
Marvin Deocares, president of DMCC Corp., said, “We have been operating the Rendezvous Restaurant and Bamboo Bar at Saipan Vegas for the last two-and-half years, including during the 2020 pandemic shutdown periods. Saipan Vegas has been a supportive landlord and has assisted us by forgiving some of our rent during the shutdown and by providing other support.
“If Saipan Vegas is forced to shut down due to the doubling of their license fees, we will also have to shut down our operations. This will result in an additional 14 workers losing their jobs during this difficult time.
“We humbly ask the Saipan delegation to work with Saipan Vegas to come to compromise solution regarding the license fees-imposed e-gaming machines,” he said in a statement yesterday. (PR)
