The House of Representatives Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee has yet to decide on a hearing date for Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, as it continues its probe into the governor’s travels and expenditures.

JGO chair Rep. Celina R. Babauta (D-Saipan) said yesterday they have yet to issue subpoenas for Torres and Palacios to testify as there is no hearing schedule yet for them.

She did confirm that subpoenas to testify have been issued to Police Sgt. Adrian Mendiola of the Boating Safety Section of the Department of Public Safety and Boating Safety officers Emery Kaipat and Kevin Aldan.

She said the hearing will resume today, Tuesday, at 10:30am, at the House chamber.

There will also be hearings on Wednesday and Friday.

Torres recently stated that he will wait to be served first with the subpoena before he can discuss what his next steps would be.

Last Aug. 12, the JGO approved subpoenas that will require Torres, Palacios, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Robert A. Guerrero, and several others, to testify.
