One additional individual has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 from passenger arrival testing, bringing the CNMI’s total to 211 cases since March 28, 2020.

The latest case was identified by travel screening and confirmed through testing on arrival on Aug. 9, 2021.

The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. said in a statement yesterday that the individual has been quarantined and is actively monitored. The CHCC Communicable Disease Investigation/Inspection team has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the new confirmed cases.

In related news, the COVID-19 vaccination campaign will select one winner of $3,000 on Facebook Live tomorrow at 5pm on Road to 80’s Facebook page. Next Friday, Aug. 20, the campaign will raffle off $3,500.

This raffle, as with past and future raffles hosted by Road to 80, is available only to the CNMI’s population that has received a COVID-19 vaccine. According to vaccinatecnmi.com’s Vax Dashboard, almost 33,000 people are eligible for this Friday’s and all future raffles.

After Friday, the next upcoming raffles are as follows: $3,500 on Aug. 20; $4,000 on Aug. 27; and Road to 80’s “Grand Finale” on Aug. 28 at the Taste of the Marianas main stage, when there will be six raffles: three $2,500 raffles exclusive to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota’s respective vaccinated populations; and three CNMI-wide raffles to announce one winner each for $5,000; $15,000; and a 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport.

For winners to claim their prize, they must submit proof that they are fully vaccinated. For those who received the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, this means providing the second vaccine confirmation number. Those who received the Johnson & Johnson or Janssen vaccines only need to provide their single vaccine confirmation number.

Road to 80’s Facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/roadto80cnmi.

Those interested in receiving their COVID-19 vaccine can schedule an appointment online at vaccinatecnmi.com or over the phone at 682-SHOT (7468).
