Saipan-born Adriano is now the GM of a Hyatt property
Claudia C. Adriano, who was born and raised on Saipan, is now the general manager of the Andaz San Diego in California, a “luxury, lifestyle, and leisure brand” under the Hyatt Corp. umbrella hotels.
Hyatt Corp. announced Adriano’s promotion to general manager at Andaz San Diego last week on Aug. 5, 2021.
Adriano, who is the daughter of Margaret F. Camacho-Castro from Saipan and the late Antonio G. Adriano from Tinian, worked in several Hyatt properties in many capacities. She began her Hyatt career in 2006 at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ as an assistant executive housekeeper. Her ascension continued to front office manager opening team at Hyatt Olive 8 in Seattle, WA and on to Hyatt Regency Bellevue within the same city as they expanded. In 2012, she joined Hyatt Regency New Orleans, LA as the executive housekeeper, later promoted to assistant rooms executive. In 2016 she was promoted to general manager at Hyatt House within the same city. In 2018, she was elevated back to director of rooms at Hyatt Regency, New Orleans, LA. In 2020, Adriano took on dual role responsibilities as general manager for Hyatt House New Orleans, 200 guestroom property and director of rooms for Hyatt Regency New Orleans, LA, 1193 guestroom property.
“We the Hyatt Regency Saipan family read with great pride about Claudia C. Adriano’s career accomplishments. She is a rising star in the Hyatt Corp. and has always represented Saipan with great humility and class. She was very kind to reference the Hyatt Regency Saipan as having been a part of her and her family’s life growing up in her promotion interview and announcement,” said the Hyatt in a statement.
The statement also made a push for the extension of the Hyatt Regency Saipan lease in Garapan.
“The irony of Claudia’s ascent is not lost on us. While Claudia’s accomplishments have highlighted Saipan within the Hyatt family and the rest of the hospitality world, here at home the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s future hangs in the balance. We hope the Hyatt Regency Saipan lease will get its final approval so that the next generation of Saipan will have the opportunity to follow in Claudia’s footsteps and make it big in the Hyatt World, and they can start right here at home,” the Hyatt statement said.
“Claudia, on behalf of the staff and management of Hyatt Regency Saipan, we would like to congratulate you on your past accomplishments and your new role as general manager at the Andaz San Diego. You continue to make us proud,” the statement adds. (PR)
