With exactly 345 days to go before the start of the 2022 Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games, local sports federations are about to shift into high gear to form their national teams.

The Northern Marianas Islands Volleyball Association is one such sports federation and the first step in organizing any men’s and women’s national team is the naming of coaches.

To this end, NMIVA president Somia Quan is requesting all interested individuals to submit their names for the CNMI national men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams for the Pacific Mini Games.

Individuals that would like to participate as a coach or player are encouraged to email nmivolleyball@gmail.com for questions or more information, according to Quan.

She earlier said that the series of volleyball clinics conducted by FIVB Level III certified coach and Oceania Sports Education master educator Mike Rabago brought out not only potential national players but also coaches that assisted the Team Guam coach in the drills.

A total of 64 athletes have so far registered for the beach volleyball competition of the Mini Games, which the CNMI will be hosting for the very first time from July 17 to 25, 2022. The venue for the beach volleyball competition will the Crowne Plaza Resort beach front.

The NMIVA president also said before that aside from beach volleyball coaches for next year’s Mini Games, they are also on the lookout for coaches that will guide the CNMI 6×6 indoor volleyball men’s and women’s national teams for the 2022 Micronesian Games in the Marshall Islands.

Aside from beach volleyball, also in the calendar for the 2022 Pacific Mini Games are tennis, weightlifting, va’a, athletics, baseball, badminton, golf, and triathlon.
