Sen. Sablan joins GOP
The CNMI Republican Party announced on Wednesday that first-term senator, two-term representative, and former independent candidate Vinnie F. Sablan has been accepted to become a member of the longest serving party in the CNMI.
“Sen. Sablan has shown a true dedication to public service throughout his life—even before politics,” said CNMI GOP president James Ada. “Throughout his years of service in the CNMI Legislature, in both the House and the Senate, he has shown the interest and skill in successfully reaching across party lines, establishing proactive relationships built on common goals and seeking policies that will benefit the lives of all those who call the CNMI home.”
“The CNMI Republican Party is happy to accept Mr. Sablan’s application to be a member of GOP and we are looking forward to adding his skills and passion for service to the accomplishments we aim to achieve for the people of the CNMI,” Ada added.
The CNMI Republican Party, upon receiving his application, unanimously voted to approve Sablan’s membership.
“This past year has been truly difficult for everyone in our community,” Ada said. “The work we must do as a Commonwealth is more significant than ever, and we must come together to reach our common goals of rebuilding our islands from the pandemic, fostering greater resiliency in our economy and our workforce, and securing a more prosperous future for our children.”
“Sen. Sablan shares in this vision and has dedicated his entire career to serving the people of the CNMI. We are looking forward to rebuilding the CNMI in order to reach that vision for the betterment of our entire community.”
Sablan is a senator representing Saipan and the Northern Islands. He serves as floor leader in the Senate, chairman of the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation, and has previously represented Precinct 4 in the CNMI House of Representatives. (PR)
