NMIMC sets session today
The 16th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council will hold its 9th regular session today, July 27, 2021, at 10am at the Saipan and Northern Mariana Islands Municipal Council office at the Kiosku, Chalan Kanoa, Saipan. (PR)
Proposed permanent hot mix asphalt plant on Rota
The Division of Environmental Quality will be holding a public hearing for the proposed permanent Hot Mix Asphalt Plant in Sinapalo, Rota. Radiocom Saipan Inc. is proposing to establish a permanent hot mix asphalt plant to meet the needs of future road projects on Rota.
The public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, at 5pm at the Rota Superior Court. COVID-19 protocols will be implemented and all participants are required to wear a mask at all times.
Written comments can be submitted in writing to the BECQ Rota Office or emailed to deq.air@becq.gov.mp. The draft Minor Source Permit can be reviewed at the BECQ Rota Office or accessed via the BECQ website at http://deq.gov.mp/sec.asp?secID=15. All written and oral comments received by DEQ will be included as part of the permit application records and will be considered in any decisions concerning the proposed project. CEDA increases direct loan amount to $450,000
The Commonwealth Economic Development Authority has increased its Direct Loans to $450,000 for business loans, primarily for new investments that increase economic activities related to tourism, attract new industries (i.e., technology, economic diversification), and/or improve the cost of living on Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands.
