Coldwell Energy to bring first electric cars to Saipan

A company is planning to bring electric cars on Saipan this August 2021.

Coldwell Energy chief executive officer David Hood said yesterday they plan to bring in a 2021 all electric Nissan Leaf and a Tesla for testing here on the island.

“We plan to test the cars in our unique…environment for dependability, mileage per charge, charging combined with solar and different levels of charge stations ranging from trickle charge to extreme fast charging,” said Hood in a press statement.

The CEO said their goal is to open the CNMI’s doors to electric vehicles, removing the mystery and help others take advantage of today’s new technologies here in the CNMI.

“It’s time to be proactive with sustainable practices and these technologies will soon be affordable and available for everyone in the CNMI,” Hood said.
