Rosario completes testimony, JGO has yet to schedule next hearing
Special assistant for administration Mathilda A. Rosario completed her testimony Tuesday night before the House Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee, but the JGO has yet to schedule its next hearing.
Rosario was done with her testimony at 6:30pm. It was her third day of testifying before the JGO that is investigating Gov. Ralph DLG Torres’ travels and expenses.
JGO chair Rep. Celina R. Babauta (D-Saipan) said they have not scheduled the next hearing as their next witness, Juana Leon Guerrero, who is director of the Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles, could not make it.
Babauta said Leon Guerrero wrote to the committee that she had been subpoenaed by the U.S. District Court for the NMI.
“So we have to reschedule her,” Babauta said.
Leon Guerrero was among seven DPS officials/police officers that the JGO earlier announced will be subpoenaed to appear and testify.
The six others are police officer Adrian Mendiola of the Boating Safety Unit, and police officers Simon Manacop, Jose Saures, Daniel Joab, Alex Sakisat, and Joey Cruz. Cruz is the personal driver/security detail of Torres.
The JGO also summoned to testify three others—Erin Camacho of the Women, Infants, and Children Program; former Finance secretary Larrisa Larson, and Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig.
