Babauta wins $1K in Road to 80’s first weekly raffle
One of the two winners of a $1,000 raffle last Friday received her prize yesterday morning, with raffle host Brad Ruszala giving the woman $1,000 in cash at her workplace. The handoff was streamed on Facebook Live.
After receiving her prize from Ruszala, Myrnalynn Babauta recounted that she got her first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine in March, saying she got the vaccine at the time “to protect my family.” Ruszala told Babauta and all those that tuned into the livestream that Babauta and other future winners are able to win more than once, and are still entered in the other upcoming raffles.
Learned separately through a text from Ruszala on Monday afternoon, last Friday’s second winner of $1,000, Joseph Dalupo, will receive his prize once he receives his second vaccine shot. Ruszala said that Dalupo is scheduled to receive his second shot on Thursday.
Last Friday’s raffle, along with the upcoming six weekly raffles, is all part of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign Road to 80. One winner of $1,500 will be announced this Friday, July 23.
Road to 80’s series of weekly raffles, which began last Friday, will only pull from a pool of the tens of thousands of people in the CNMI that have received their first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson or Janssen vaccine. Everyone who has information on record through registering online at vaccinatecnmi.com and has received their shots qualify.
For winners to claim their prize, they must submit proof that they are fully vaccinated. For those who received the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, this means providing the second vaccine confirmation number. Those who received the Johnson & Johnson or Janssen vaccines only need to provide their single vaccine confirmation number.
From this week to week seven, the weekly cash prizes are as follows: $1,500; $2,000; $2,500; $3,000; $3,500; $4,000. On Aug. 28 at the Taste of the Marianas main stage, multiple winners of thousands of dollars and one winner of a 2020 Nissan Rogue will be announced.
Those interested in receiving their COVID-19 vaccine can schedule an appointment online at vaccinatecnmi.com or over the phone at 682-SHOT (7468).
