More houses, establishments assigned house numbers
Eighty percent of the houses to the right of the route from Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road going up to As Terlaje are now assigned house numbers, based on the latest update from the Saipan Mayor’s Office Street Naming and Addressing Division.
Specifically, a total of 2,372 houses along this route now have assigned numbers. This was learned during a joint interview with special assistant to the mayor Henry Hofschneider and Global Information Systems technicians Janice Celis and Jaycee Rdialul at the Saipan Mayor’s Office conference room on Tuesday.
Celis acknowledged, though that there could be a possibility that the house numbering team may need to go back, as there could be many more residences in the area that the mayor’s office is unaware of. To mitigate this issue, Hofschneider said he and the house numbering team have been working with Justin Andrew and Fermin Sakisat Jr. of the Department of Commerce’s Central Statistics Division to cross-check the number of houses in the area that CSD has on record with the information that the Saipan Mayor’s Office has on hand. The CSD plays a major role during the CNMI’s 10-year census reports, as it submits its findings and data to the U.S. Census Bureau directly.
