18 candidates vie for 1st Pinoy Super Mom 2014
A total of 18 candidates are vying for the title of the United Filipino Organization’s First Pinoy Super Mom 2014, which will be staged as part of the celebration of Pistang Pinoy this year.
UFO president Annamae Adaza said they are presenting another quality show, this time to give recognition to “all mothers who work hard for the family, women of power, women who are outspoken, can express themselves, and are career-oriented.”
The 18 candidates are Elena Delos Santos, Estrella Roja Decena, Norlyn Cabrera, Jennifer Kaipat, Precilla Villafuerte, Joy Legaspi, Nora Ayuyu, Teresita Pangelinan, Matilde Gutierrez, Rebecca Urbano, Virginia Cruz, Mylene Sapio, Melba Camacho, Antonieta Magbanua, Rodilita Agbanlog, Sheryll Sabino, Catherine Regalado, and Josephine Tengco.
Adaza said they originally had 26 participants but due to conflict of work schedules, the other eight cannot join anymore.
“It’s about time to show the CNMI that mothers can create a great show as well. This will be brought to us by Docomo Pacific,” Adaza said.
According to her, the candidates will undergo training, which includes a series of rehearsals for personal development.
“It’s more on personal development, in which they develop more self-confidence, with their very strict pageant choreographer and director Ernie Molina, who has been in the pageant industry for more than 10 years. He is also a certified academic and skilled trainer for Filipino performing artists,” Adaza said.

“Our mothers are excited about the pageant. Most of them are joining just for experience, exposure, and of course the prize is so enticing. We even encourage them to join the Zumba classes that the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. offers for free.”

The prizes are $800, $500, and $300 for first place, second, and third, respectively. There are eight special awards and all non-winners will also receive prizes. The contest categories are Production Number, Talent competition, Evening Gown competition, and question-and-answer portion.
The pageant is being be staged as part of the celebration of the 116th Philippine Independence Day on June 14 at the Garapan Fishing Base.
Adaza said the pageant will be the event’s evening highlight.
