Triple J donates $5K, car as hole-in-one prize for CCA golf tournament

Triple J executives presented a $5,000 donation to the Commonwealth Cancer Association last Friday, June 18, at the Surfrider Resort Hotel in Chalan Kanoa, to support CCA’s first golf tournament fundraiser on June 19 at Lao Lao Golf Bay Resort, where Triple J Motors is also sponsoring a hole-in-one prize, a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander ES.
Triple J has been a proud partner of CCA for the past 17 years.
“Our group understands the importance for CCA to continue to provide services and assistance to cancer patients and survivors in the CNMI. Any contribution made to their efforts helps them to provide hope for an improved quality of life at a time when it is most needed,” said Jeff Jones, COO and president of Triple J. “We are committed to supporting CCA in continuing the fight and encouraging hope for those struggling with cancer.”
Juan L. Babauta, CCA’s executive director, said that CCA remains strong and stable even amidst a pandemic because of supporters like Triple J. “On behalf of the Commonwealth Cancer Association, we are greatly appreciative of this generous donation,” he said. “The alarming reality is that we continue to register more and more new cases of cancer every month. Proceeds from this golf tournament will help those who bear the burden of battling with cancer related illnesses and help fund awareness and prevention programs within our communities.”
CCA is a non-profit 501(c)3 community-based organization focused on the battle against cancer. All the services provided by CCA, such as patient navigation, direct patient assistance, education and awareness activities, prevention programs, short-term medical equipment rental support, and nutritional supplements are funded by the Annual Marianas March Against Cancer. This commitment in direct services is provided to over 200 individuals who are undergoing treatment as well as those living with cancer that are being monitored on-island and off-island. Monies raised in this golf tournament will fund these programs and services. (PR)
