Cui told to preserve phone data; her lawyer withdraws

Imperial Pacific International Holdings, Ltd. chair Cui Li Jie was ordered to submit an exhibit of her preserved phone data, and was ordered to submit a signed declaration in Chinese that she fully preserved the data, during a court hearing at the U.S. District Court for the NMI last Friday. Additionally, her lawyer, Juan T. Lizama, made an oral motion to the court to withdraw as her legal counsel.
According to the court hearing minutes filed on June 3, the court ordered Cui to submit to opposing lawyer Aaron Halegua a signed declaration in Chinese detailing the steps she took to preserve her phone data and to include her consent for Lizama to submit her phone to a third-party company. She was also ordered to submit a certified translated version of her declaration.
The court ordered that Lizama is to surrender Cui’s phone to a third-party company no later than June 10, and that he is to file a declaration that Cui’s phone was surrendered as well as his motion to withdraw as Cui’s lawyer no later than the end of this week. From June 3 until the final pretrial conference for Tianming Wang, et. al vs. Gold Mantis Construction Decoration, et. al scheduled for Sep.8, Cui is to spend the time searching for a new lawyer.
