NMI U18 A hands TanHoldings another loss

The NMI National Boys U18 A served TanHoldings its second loss of the season following their match of the M-League Spring 2021 last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

TanHoldings, who went undefeated for most of the season, has lost their mojo, dropping two games in back-to-back weekends.

During their match last weekend, NMI U18 edged out TanHoldings, 4-2, to hand them their second loss of the season. TanHoldings, however, remains on top of the standings with a win-loss record of 9-2 with one draw.

TanHoldings initially held the lead with Martin Jambor scoring the first goal in the 19th minute.

However, NMI U18 A’s Kohtaro Goto, who carried the team with his two goals, landed his first goal in the 25th minute to bring the game to a draw. Kaden Church turned the tables in their favor after landing a goal in the 58th minute, giving his team a 1-point advantage, 2-1.

Jershwin Angeles of TanHoldings brought the game to a tie again in the 62nd minute, but Goto took back the lead for NMI U18 A after firing his second goal in the 70th minute.

Akira Kadokura delivered the final blow and secured the win for NMI U18 with a goal in the 74th minute.

The previous weekend, MP United denied TanHoldings’ bid for an undefeated season after taking a 2-0 victory in their Division A game.

Meanwhile, sister team NMI U18 B crushed Old B Bank last Friday after taking a 3-0 victory over the latter.

Aloy Angeles led the way with a goal in the 3rd minute, followed by another goal from Ruben Guerrero in the 12th minute. Garrett Weaver landed the team’s final goal in the 39th minute.

Also prevailing last weekend was MP United who outshined The One, 2-0.

Sunjoon Tenorio showed the way for MP United with a goal in the 21st minute and an own goal in the 66th minute gave MP United a 2-point advantage by the end of the match.
