The 4th Annual Marianas Terrestrial Conservation Conference and Workshop will be held virtually on June 8, 9, 10, and 15, 16, 17, with talks from 7am to 10:30am, Chamorro Standard Time.

This virtual conference is free and open to the public, and seeks to inform residents of the Marianas, as well as researchers, scientists and cultural practitioners about science and conservation projects conducted in the Marianas. Short talks and panel discussions feature topics including environmental history, ecosystem restoration, endangered species conservation, invasive species management, conservation planning efforts, the Cocos Island brown tree snake invasion, and conservation education.

Throughout the two-week conference period, in-person workshops and field trips will provide participants the opportunity to learn about natural history and conservation efforts in the Marianas.

Also, a virtual career fair will be held on Thursday, June 10, from 10am to 11am ChST and a graduate school fair will be held on Wednesday, June 16, from 10am to 11am ChST, for anyone interested in careers and graduate school programs in conservation.

The conference is sponsored by Tåno, Tåsi, yan Todu, a non-profit organization working to restore and preserve the land and sea for the people of the Mariana Islands, and by Guam Community College and Iowa State University.
