Commonwealth Ports Authority board chair Kimberlyn King-Hinds said yesterday that she is willing to consider running for the position of the U.S. delegate in next year’s elections.

When asked about a poster with her photo and name with message “for U.S. Congress” circulating on social media, King-Hinds admitted that she saw it too.

“My phone is blowing up,” she said.

The CPA chairwoman acknowledged she is indeed being asked to consider running for Congress but did not disclose who asked her to run for the position.

“There are many people asking me to run, but I must first consult my family and friends,” King-Hinds said.

King-Hinds was first elected CPA board chair in December 2018. At that time, she replaced longtime chair Jose R. Lifoifoi. She is the first woman to chair the CPA board.

King-Hinds is a lawyer.

At the November 2020 general elections, Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) ran unopposed for his seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
