Torres appoints consultant from Guam as CUC director
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres has nominated a consultant for the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority in Guam to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board of directors.
Torres has informed Senate President Jude U. Hofschneider (R-Tinian) of his appointment of Frederick P. Q. Tupaz to serve a four-year term as CUC board director.
The governor said Tupaz’s knowledge and skill as a program manager, planner, and consultant for the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority will bring “an invaluable skillset to CUC’s board of directors.”
The appointment requires the Senate’s advice and consent.
Torres said that being a CUC director is a demanding job that requires skill, experience, and sound business judgment. “I am confident that Mr. Tupaz possesses those traits and will devote his best efforts in looking out for interests of CUC,” the governor said.
At present, Miranda V. Manglona is the CUC board’s chairperson, while Weston Thomas Deleon Guerrero is its vice chairperson. The other members are Jovita Paulino as secretary, Matthew Holley as treasurer, and Aubrey Hocog as member representing the Commonwealth Development Authority.
