Agape Christian School’s Barbara Wang topped four of eight championship events in the girls 12U division of the 2021 PSS/ McDonald’s All Schools Athletics Championships that concluded last Saturday.

Wang topped the softball throw, the 1,500m event, the 800m race, and the 400m course last weekend.

In the softball throw, Wang took home the gold after recording a distance of 21.65m followed by Neveah Cabrera from Tinian Elementary School who made a distance of 21.6 to gain her the silver medal. Completing the Top 3 was Suki Peng of Saipan International School with a distance of 16.15m earning her the bronze medal.

In the 1,500m, Wang outran her opponents finishing the course with the fastest time of 6:54 to earn her another gold medal. Coming in at second was Faith Arriola of SIS who submitted a time of 7:21 to gain herself a silver medal. Coming in at third place was SIS’ Suki Peng who came in at 7:42.

The 800m event was a close match but Wang continued to prevail, placing first with a time of 3:13. Closely tailing her was Faith Arriola who came in just a few seconds later at 3:29. Rounding up the Top 3 for the event was Arriola’s schoolmate Aubrey White who came in at 3:36 to earn herself the bronze medal.

Like the 800m event, Wang won the 400m race by a small margin but ultimately came out the champion with a time of 1:17. Page Blanco of Kagman Elementary School came in less than 10 seconds later at 1:26:42 and placed second. Suki Peng nearly tied with Blanco for second but fell short with a time of 1:26:71.

Meanwhile, Tinian Elementary School’s Ysabelle Lenteja bagged three gold medals last weekend after dominating the 200m, 100m, and the 60m events.

For the 200m event, Lenteja recorded a time of 31:43 to gain herself a gold medal, followed by Page Blanco who submitted a time of 34:28 to make her the event’s silver medal awardee. Completing the Top 3 was Aubrey White who came in at 34:97.

Lenteja continued to bring her school pride after conquering the 100m event with a time of 15:69. Page Blanco came a minute later at 16:56 to mand the silver medal, followed by third place winner Paulani Dela Cruz who finished the course at 16:81.

The 60m event proved to be intense with Lenteja finishing first at 9:50, followed by runner up Page Blanco at 9:93, and finally to complete the top three, Paulani Dela Cruz came in at 10:15, earning herself the bronze medal.

Also topping an event in the 12U division was Page Blanco who conquered the long jump event with a distance of 3.5. Ysabelle Lenteja came in second after a recorded distance of 3.41. Making top three was Paulani Dela Cruz with a distance of 3.10.

Team SIS won the girls 9U and 12U division with 229 points, followed by Kagman Elementary School with 85 points. Tinian Elementary School made their trip to Saipan worthwhile with a third place finish after earning 78 points.
