The Ayuyu Battalion of Kagman High School held a change of command ceremony last April 30, with outgoing commander C/LTC Tessa Sablan Aguon passing the battalion command colors to incoming commander C/LTC Frances Reyes at the Kagman High School Drill Pad.
The ceremony was attended by two honored guests: Board of Education chair Andrew Orsini and Assistant Commissioner of Education Eric Magofna. Both guests gave inspirational remarks.
Other guests at the ceremony were Kagman High School principal Benjamin Jones, Kagman High School vice principal of Discipline Francisca Castro, and Kagman High School vice principal of Academics Shirley Norita.
According to a battalion statement, Reyes has the outstanding leadership capabilities and dedication to reach the position of battalion commander for school year 2021/22. She will now hold total responsibility for what the battalion does or does not do.
Ayuyu cadets are more than honored to have Reyes lead the Kagman JROTC into the future during these difficult times, according to senior army instructor CPT James Burke.
Aguon will be attending Northern Marianas College this fall semester. (PR)
