Isaac Aguon topped the monthly April Ace last month and has secured the final spot in Marianas Golf Association’s annual Ace of Aces championship tournament to be held this month.

During the event last April, Aguon bested 34 other competitors after shooting 46 in the front nine and 38 in the back nine for a gross score of 84.

Sporting a 19 handicap and a net score of 65, Aguon was crowned the April Ace which was the last spot up for grabs for this season.

Meanwhile, Victor Salas and Mel Sablan tied for the second-lowest net score of the day with a 66, but Salas edged out Sablan on a scorecard playoff to bag second place.

Wiith Aguon securing the 12th and final spot, he now joins the other monthly ace winners vying for the Ace of Aces champion.

The format of the Ace of Aces is a two-score total amongst the 12 monthly ace winners. This means scores from the April Ace and May Aces will be combined and totaled and whoever comes out the lowest will be crowned this year’s MGA Ace of Aces Champion.

The other monthly ace winners includes Ron Benavente for May 2020, Chris Leon Guerrero for June 2020, Don Hallmark for July 2020, Joey Dela Cruz for August 2020, Gerald Guerrero for September 2020, Calvin Yamagishi for October 2020, Patrick Guerrero for November 2020, Shine Tenorio for December 2020, Chris Groves for January 2020, Keone Chariton for February 2021, and Dung Tenorio for March 2021.

The April Ace was held last April at Laolao West Course with a total of 34 members and four guests joining the monthly.

Also winning awards that day were closest to the pin winners Victor Salas who came closest in hole No. 3, Keone Chariton in hole No. 7, J.J. Atalig in hole No. 13, and Patrick George who won the KP award for getting closest in hole No. 17.
