Tasi to Table continues expansion, launched TTT Rota last Saturday

Tasi to Table Inc. launched TTT Rota last Saturday and held the club’s first meeting at the Rota Mayor’s Office conference room, to expand further the program’s goal to instill the love of fishing among the youth and give high schoolers elective hours that go toward graduation.
Guest speakers from the Department of Public Safety, Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, and the Western Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Council did presentations to the club’s new members from the Rita H. Inos Jr./Sr. High School.
DPS did a presentation on boating safety and the many needs and uses of emergency flares while MINA presented on the environmental impact that trash has on the ocean, similar to their presentation at TTT Tinian’s first meeting.
WesPac coordinator Floyd Masga presented to the students the council’s many career-building opportunities in fishery management, and also spoke about the council’s summer high school classes and scholarship programs for those seeking higher education. “TTT has proven over and over their passion towards educating the youth as well as whole community. …It was an honor to be a part of TTT Rota’s presentation,” said Masga.
TTT Rota will meet again at the Rota Mayor’s Office conference room on May 15 from 9am to 1pm. The Rota branch was made possible through Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, the Department of Lands & Natural Resources, the Mayor’s Office of Rota, the Rota Municipal Council, and TTT’s various private-sector and non-government supporters.
