The Marianas Visitors Authority conducted promotions in Guam last weekend, targeting both military personnel and their families and the general public.

The 10th Annual Joint Military Fairs were conducted on April 23 and 24, 2014. The first fair was conducted at the Coral Reef Fitness Center at Andersen Air Force Base, with an estimated 850 attendees. The second fair was held on April 24 at the Charles King Fitness Center at Naval Base Guam, with approximately 550 attendees.

The MVA also distributed information about Saipan, Tinian, and Rota at the Guam Micronesia Island Fair on April 25-27 at Ypao Park. The MVA joined other Micronesian destinations under the umbrella of Pacific Asia Travel Association, Micronesia Chapter.

“The MVA’s participation in the annual military travel fairs—and the Micronesia Island Fair this year, too—is our greatest opportunity to meet face-to-face with prospective travelers from Guam,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “With funding now available as a result of last year’s new hotel occupancy tax law, there is an excellent opportunity for the municipalities of Rota and Tinian to also develop charter flights to attract more visitors from Guam, and we support that.”
