GMS student secures spot in CNMI Team for NJSDA Nationals
Chealzka Navarro, an eighth- grader at Green Meadow School, won first place the master’s Impromptu division—and third place in Declamation—at the virtual regionals competition of the National Junior Speech and Debate Association last Saturday, March 13.
With this victory, Navarro secured a spot in the CNMI NJSDA National Team.
Besides Navarro, other GMS students also secured wins at the virtual competition: 7th Grade Edsel Hinolan won 4th place in Declamation, 7th grade Ezra Alfred won 5th place in Dramatic Interpretation, 6th Grade Trishthony Duarte won 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation and 5th in Poetry, and 6th grade Louise Manansala won 5th place in Declamation.
While the NSDA competitions wrap up, the GMS students eagerly await news about the NJSDA Nationals.
GMS Falcons are no strangers to the NJSDA competitions and did not hesitate to practice and prepare the video entries for their performance pieces for the regionals. With multiple victories secured over the last two months, NJSDA coaches and teachers prepared their students final entries for the regional competition. (PR)
