Northern Marianas College resumed its face-to-face classes, including other classes that have a face-to-face element, yesterday, March 22, 2021.

In an email from NMC Accreditation liaison officer Charlotte Cepeda, students were all informed that, while are on campus, they must observe all safety protocols, including wearing a mask at all times, keeping socially distant, and practicing proper hygiene, including washing hands properly or sanitizing.

Students were urged to notify NMC is there are other reasons that may prevent them from participating in face-to-face classes.

While NMC Student Service offices are open, no prior appointments are necessary; however, all COVID-19 protocols must be followed such as wearing a mask at all times, keeping socially distant, and practicing proper hygiene. Students are required to take their temperatures and sign in at every office or department that they visit.

NMC strongly encourages its students to get vaccinated. It pointed out that vaccine registration for those who are 16 years old or older (Saipan) and those who are 18 years old and older (Tinian and Rota) are now being accepted. For vaccination and registration questions, call (670) 682-SHOT /7468, or you can visit www.vaccinatecnmi.com for more information.

However, for students who are part of a COVID-19 active contact tracing process or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they are being encouraged to stay home.

“The situation and the news regarding COVID-19 are always evolving. The information we share today may be updated in days or even within hours. Some of the timelines we identify may change depending on circumstances that emphasize student and employee safety and wellbeing,” said Cepeda in the email.
