The Saipan Fil-American Lions Club and Saipan Mighty Dolphins Leo Club donated eight trash bins to Marianas High School last March 9.

According to MHS principal Jonathan Aguon, the trash bin donation is timely because trash is becoming a challenge once more as the school starts going back to in-person classes.

MHS vice principal Romolo Orsini said this is the second time the Saipan Fil-American Lions has donated to the school, which is why MHS is truly grateful.

The school presented the clubs’ officers with certificates of appreciation during the turnover of the trash bins. The Lion Club was headed by president Eden Mercado, first vice president Socorro Huliganga, club secretary Mario Mayuga, club service chair Marilyn Quebral, and members Leonila Mendoza, Jean Pumatong, Zaldy Quebral and Leo members Angel Nabaunag and Bea Mendoza.

“I am so grateful to our fellow Lions who helped in preparing the drums, and for making the donation possible. It will alleviate the trash in the campus, and it will help keep the biggest school on Saipan clean and beautiful,” said Mercado.
