Chavez

Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez came out on top in the female division of the aquathlon portion in the 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run held last Saturday at the PauPau Beach in Marpi.

Mount Carmel School’s Chavez, who is no stranger to the run-swim-run portion of the event, dashed through the course and finished first in the women’s division of the aquathlon—a combination of swim and a run race—with an impressive finishing time of 1:07:53.

It’s Chavez’s second victory in the aquathlon after also topping the same event with a time of 51:34 in 2018.

Coming at a close second was Denise Meyers, finishing the course just a minute behind Chavez with a time of 1:08:31. Meyers was closely followed by Kerri Baur who completed the Top 3 after coming in at 1:09:44.

Kuroda

In the male division of the aquathlon, Shuji Kuroda was the first to complete the course submitting a time of 56:19. Kuroda sped through the event and completed the course with the fastest time.

Trailing close behind was Isaiah Aleksenko who finished less than a minute after Kuroda at 57:22. Rounding up the Top 3 in the male division of the aquathlon was Whitney Altizer who finished at 1:00:37.

The 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run is the Triathlon Association of the CNMI’s first event for the 2021 season.
