The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation on Navy Hill was burglarized over the Easter holiday and an estimated $8,400 worth of items was stolen.
The burglar(s) managed to enter the OVR N-2 Building by removing an air-conditioner window unit. Several doors and locks were destroyed. The stolen items were all from within the building and include four new iPads that were to be distributed to OVR counselors after the holidays, one laptop, a desktop computer with monitor and backup battery, projector, stereo system with dual speakers, and a consumer cell phone.

On top of the loss of the stolen items, repairs to ensure the security of the OVR building cost the program an additional $2,500.

If you have any information about this incident, call the Department of Public Safety at 911, the Commonwealth Bureau of Investigations at 664-9042/44, Crime Stoppers at 234-7272, or OVR at 322-6537/38. (OVR)
