Free Soroptimist CNMI ‘Fun’raiser

The Soroptimist of the Northern Mariana Islands Chapter is hosting their second annual Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras Party on Saturday, Feb. 13, starting at 6pm, at Godfather’s Beach Bar inside the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan. There will be specialty drinks and prizes for the best costumes. Proceeds will benefit the club’s annual “Live Your Dream” award. Join us for this free fun event!
Also, the club will hold its monthly luncheon meeting today, Feb. 11 at 12pm, at the Majesty Restaurant on Beach Road. The Chapter is open for new members, and if you have a heart for the women of the CNMI, join us! (PR)

Free webinar today on changes to PPP, EIDL

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the CNMI Small Business Development Center, is hosting a free webinar, “Understanding the Changes to the US Congress New Relief Package,” today, Feb. 11, at 10am via Zoom.
The event includes a presentation from Ken Lujan, branch manager of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Guam Office, regarding changes to SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan. Additionally, there will be information shared from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce about the changes to the Employee Retention Tax Credit Program.

NMHC to talk about CDBG-DR Housing Programs on Tinian

The Northern Marianas Housing Corp. is sending its CDBG-DR Loans Team to Tinian today, Feb. 11, 2021, to conduct a presentation and Q&A session on the CDBG-DR Housing Programs. The event is scheduled for 1pm at the Natibu Park Antonio M. Borja Amphitheater in order to comply with COVID-19 protocols on social distancing.
The three NMHC CDBG-DR Housing Programs include: New Construction for Homeownership Opportunity and First-Time Homebuyer Assistance Program; Homebuyer Program; and Homeowner Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program.
Prequalification applications may be picked up and completed at the Tinian Field Office or accessed via the NMHC CDBG-DR website at: www.cnmi-cdbgdr.com
