Over 10K vaccinated in the CNMI

As of yesterday, a total of 10,644 residents on Saipan, Rota, and Tinian have been vaccinated with either the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine or the Moderna Inc. vaccine, according to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s dashboard.

CHCC said a total of 7,267 residents have already completed their first dose, while 3,337 have completed their second dose. This is an increase of 1,319 people who have been vaccinated. Rota has also seen an increase of 89 people getting vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

As for Tinian, their numbers stayed the same on the dashboard with 141 who have gotten their first dose. According to Saipan Tribune archives, the Tinian and Rota populations are expected to receive their second doses in mid-February, because you have to take the Pfizer vaccine 21 days after the first dose, and 28 days for Moderna.

CHCC chief executive officer Esther Muña said that Phase 1B is the only phase open to receive the vaccines. She added that they will expand once they receive the latest shipment today.

As for age distribution, the following are the numbers:

-81+: 169 vaccinated
-70-79: 718 vaccinated
-60-69: 1,804 vaccinated
-50-59: 1,647 vaccinated
-40-49: 1,097 vaccinated
-30-39: 942 vaccinated
-20-29: 870 vaccinated
-<19: 20 vaccinated

COVID-19 in Guam

The Joint Information Center in Guam reported eight new COVID-19 positive cases. The eight cases were identified out of 553 tests that were performed last Feb. 2. JIC stated that six cases were reported to have recently traveled, and were identified in quarantine.

To date, there have been a total of 7,618 cases of COVID-19 in Guam, with 129 deaths, 82 cases in active isolation, and 7,407 not in active isolation.

As for their vaccinations, Guam has administered a total of 29,504 vaccinations of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

For Pfizer, a total of 19,967 have been administered. This consist of 13,070 first doses, and 6,897 second doses. A total of 6,897 have been fully immunized.

For Moderna, 9,537 have been administered.

Guam has administered 86.01% of its allocation of 34,300 doses. This means that 29,504 have been administered, and 4,796 remain untouched.
