7 interested in Managaha railing project

Seven companies have expressed interest in a federally funded project to install a railing on the Managaha Island’s pier.
Deveney Dela Cruz, who is the Department of Public Lands special assistant, said that seven companies participated in a “question & answer” session at DPL’s conference room yesterday morning on the Managaha Island Rehabilitation Project.
“The companies have the bidding packages and will need to submit [the requirements],” said Dela Cruz in response to Saipan Tribune’s inquiry about the meeting with the companies.
Dela Cruz, DPL compliance director Greg Deleon Guerrero, and DPW highway engineer Isagani Salazar hosted the Q&A for the companies interested in submitting a bid for the project.
DPL, which was awarded $220,652 from the Office of Insular Affairs for this purpose, wants to install a railing along the Managaha pier to ensure the safety of people who visit the site.
The Managaha pier, which juts directly from the island into deeper waters, has had no railings since being built.
DPL has until August 2021 to complete the project.
