Affordable lunch specials at Loco & Taco

Under new management since October, your favorite Mexican restaurant on island, Loco & Taco, located along Beach Road across Paseo de Marianas, carries the old menu and more. According to manager James Ko, since taking over the business, they only made things better.

“Loco & Taco is now run by longtime businessman Mickey Kim of Saipan Adventure, who is known for dive and hiking activities for tourists. Since tourism in the CNMI is on hold due to the pandemic, Kim thought that this was a great opportunity for him to be a part of the community again by taking over this restaurant business,” said Ko.

“We still have the items in the old menu and added affordable lunch specials and K-Burritos that are available Monday to Friday from 11am to 2pm… we deliver on orders of five meals or more and we also partnered with food delivery service, EatsEasy,” he added.

For only $7.50 with bottled water, customers can enjoy a wide variety of Loco & Taco lunch specials like Taco Lunch Special (2 taco specials, macaroni salad, and chips with salsa), Taco Salad Special (shrimp taco salad, mini chicken burrito, and chips with salsa), garlic shrimp over rice with macaroni salad, sweet chili shrimp over rice with macaroni salad, pork belly fried rice, Korean-style pork belly fried rice with egg, Spam tuna egg special (spam, tuna, corn, eggs, and stir-fried kimchi over rice), Korean-style spicy chicken stew with rice, and Japanese-style chicken teriyaki.

For burrito lovers, K Burrito specials include Egg Bomb Burrito (fluffy eggs), Volcano Burrito (spicy fishcake), Healthy Burrito (seasoned anchovies and nuts), Sushi Burrito (salmon and tuna), and Local Special Burrito (bulgogi and red rice).

“We opened up the bar two weeks ago and we are happy to serve happy hour everyday from 5pm to 7pm. We have special promos where we offer Bud Bucket of 5 plus chips and salsa for only $18, happy hour chasers like mochiko chicken, quesadilla, nachos with Beef Colorado or with carnitas, buffalo wings, poke (tuna), and for music lovers, we have a live band every Saturday from 8pm to 10pm,” Ko said.

“Old-time favorites like the oxtail soup, garlic steak, ahi (tuna steak), guacamole burger, tacos, and quesadillas, and more are still available… everyone’s favorite our $1 taco is available Monday to Sunday all day long with beef and fish fillings every Tuesday and Sunday and other days it can be carnitas, chicken teriyaki, etc.,” Ko added.
