CCC spent $164,705 last month; manager resigns
Newly appointed Commonwealth Casino Commission executive director Andrew Yeom disclosed Tuesday to the CCC board that for the month of November this year, CCC’s total expense was $164,705.
For the month of October this year, CCC’s total expense was $164,982.
At CCC board’s monthly meeting held in CCC’s conference room at Springs Plaza in Gualo Rai, Yeom said that from this total monthly expense, 73.25% was spent on personnel wages and benefits, followed by 16.44% being spent on the board and other compensation.
He said 6.07% was spent on office rental, and other expenses.
The executive director said the current head count of full-time employees is at 41, including their legal counsel, assistant attorney general Michael Ernest.
Yeom did not disclose about CCC’s remaining funding.
Imperial Pacific International (CNMI) LLC has yet to pay this year’s $3.5 million casino regulatory fee that is intended to CCC’s operations.
Yeom also disclosed that Velma Lore, CCC’s Permit and Licensing manager, has resigned as of Dec. 4, 2020 for personal reasons.
“It is certainly sad to see her go after being together over five years in building this thing basically from scratch. We really wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors,” Yeom said.
He said they have appointed Frank Ada as an acting manager for the division until they find a permanent manager.
With respect to IPI, Yeom said IPI employees’ payroll delay pattern has continued.
He said due to these repeated payroll delays, the U.S. Department of Labor has asked the U.S. District Court for the NMI to hold in contempt IPI’s chair Cui Li Jie and IPI’s chief executive officer Donald Browne.
